Description
Tax receipt issued to Abū l-Ḥasan b. Wahb for his ḍamān on dyeing in Madīnat al-Fayyūm Dated: 17 Dhū l-Qaʿda 405 (Khan reads 402). Written by Mīkhāʾīl b. ʿAbd al-Masīḥ the jahbadh and registered by the Dīwān al-ʿAmal only. Payment made under the supervision of three officials: (1) the auspicious, rightly guided qāḍī Thiqat al-Mulk Makīn al-Dawla wa-Amīnuhā, protégé of the Commander of the Faithful, Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Nahār; (2) on behalf of the fiduciary qāḍī Abū ʿAlī l-Ḥasan b. Yaḥyā b. Nahār; and (3) under the tax accounting of the elder Sadīd al-Dawla Abū l-Faraj ʿAbd al-Masīḥ b. Qūrīl. Note: Khan's publication reverses the numbers of the two folios under this shelfmark.

- A valid receipt has been granted to the tax-farmer of Ḏat al-Ṣafā on behalf of ʾAbū al-Ḥasan ibn Wahb, the estate-manager,
- for the year four-hundred and two, under supervision of the auspicious, rightly-guided judge, Ṯiqat al-Mulk
- Makīn al-Dawla wa-ʾAmīnuhā, the protégé of the commander of the faithful, ʾAbū al-Ḥasan ʿAlī ibn Bahār, and in the presence of
- the trusted judge ʾAbū al-ʿAlī al-Ḥasan ibn Yaḥya ibn Bahār, his deputy, with the elder Sadīd [al-Dawla]
- ʾAbū al-Faraj ʿAbd al-Masīḥ ibn Qūrīl acting as accountant.
- Half of this: One and a quarter. Its amount: Two and a half.
- Written by Mīḵāʾīl ibn ʿAbd al-Masīḥ, the cashier. Valid. The eighth of the month of Ramaḍān,
- in the year four-hundred and two.
