    Awkal in Fustat (Gil) or from Ifrīqiya by 'Allush b. Yeshuʿa to Ismaʿil b. Avraham in Egypt (Ben-Sasson). […] The letter mentions the difficulty of transporting goods due to difficult times and praises the business acumen of Yehuda, who sought help from the government (sulṭān) with the transport of goods (ḥattā waffaqa Allahu Yehuda saʾla l-sulṭān fī ḥiml"). Also mentions several shipwrecks and the writer's preoccupation with a barge that hadn't yet reached the port of Alexandria.

    Partnership agreement. Location: Alexandria. Dated: 19 Tishrei 5575 AM, which is 3 October 1814 CE. Between Yiṣḥaq ha-Levi from Istanbul ["Costa"] who pitched in 10,000 gerushim, Yiṣḥaq de Curiel from Cairo who pitched in 17,500 gerushim, Avraham Cesana & Company from Alexandria, who pitched in 17,5000 gerushim, and Eliyyahu Ayilion (possibly a variant of "Ayalon") from Cairo, who pitched in 1,500 gerushim, yielding a total capital fund of 46,500 gerushim (it specifies "Egyptian gerushim"). The partners agree to maintain business/partnership ties between the three cities Istanbul, Alexandria, and Cairo for three years with the possibility of an extension.
