- Record //of testimony// which took place before us—we, the
- undersigned witnesses, on Thursday
- the twenty-fourth day
- of the month of Tammuz of the year one thousand two hundred
- and ninety-eight years of the count
- (of the Era) of Documents, which we regularly employ
- in Fusṭāṭ Egypt,
- situated on the great Nile River
- //and four// Thus: Joseph b. Jacob
- and ‘Alī b. Qīmoī said to us: “Be
- witnesses on our behalf, perform a qinyan with us
- effective immediately, write and sign
- on our behalf, using all the language of claims,
- that we have collaborated (in a partnership), placing
- in a (single) purse four silver coins,
- from which each of us (contributed)
- two silver coins. Both of them
- will buy and sell,
- purchase and transact
- with them in whatever sort
