الوصف

Two autograph instructions written by Moshe Maimonides on the blank space of a literary fragment about the laws of blessings. The first instruction is that Abū l-Tammām will lead prayers in the Iraqi synagogue on Wednesday night. This provides unique evidence about Maimonides's role in communal administration. The second instruction, written in the margin, is addressed to al-Dayyan al-Maskil (i.e., Shemuʾel b. Saʿadya ha-Levi) concerning a lawsuit made by Bū Hibatallāh, it seems instructing him to delay the date. Published by Allony, "שלוש הוראות אוטוגראפיות לרמב"ם," and again (with significant differences) by Friedman. Several of the readings are uncertain due to the extreme cursiveness of the script.
