Description / Bio

Judge and court scribe in Fustat. His sons Yosef and Shelomo were also accomplished scribes. According to a colophon written by Shelomo in Yevr. II B 1535, Shemuʾel served as judge for 52 years and died at the age of 84. According to the memorial list in ENA 2592.8, he served as judge for 45 years.
