Recto

1. That of which I inform the muʿallim the tax farmer of Miṣr al-Qadīma: please return the receipt [?] that you took
2. from ʿAṭīya because he is from our division and from among our clients. Indeed, the amīr ʿAlī sent to us a flock [?]
3. of sheep numbering 20 head of sheep. Be very, very careful to deliver the receipt
4. to our man al-Ḥājj Munajjā [?] with all haste. Make sure there is no neglect in this,
5. and no excuse and no trick of any kind, and no delay. As to the correct seal [meaning Meḥmed Çavuş’s seal],
6. here [i.e., on the verso] is the proof. God knows best.
