Business letter from Meʾir ben Naʿim to his son David ben Naʿim, in Alexandria. Dated: 20 Sivan 5400 + 179 = 5579 AM = June 1819 CE. In Judaeo-Arabic. Describing travels and mentioning people such as Ibn Bibas and Se. Mishmish. Someone is planning to go to "al-Qalʿa" (the Citadel?). The address includes the standard ופגין נחש = ופורץ גדר ישכנו נחש; the ן is stylized (to look like a snake?). (Information in part from Wagner, Linguistic Variety of Judaeo-Arabic, 24.)
