الوصف

Either a legal document or a letter concerning a legal case. In Judaeo-Arabic. Three lines from the middle of the document are preserved. Wide space between the lines. In the hand of Yosef b. Yaʿaqov Rosh ha-Seder? If a letter, the sender is instructing the addressee or somebody else to summon the "experts" (aṣḥāb al-khibra) and the Jewish elders (mashāʾikh aṣḥābinā) and divide a house into three equal portions. It may have to do with a dowry evaluation ("...fī taḥrīr al-taqwīm...") or possibly a will. If a legal document, this is describing what someone has to do. (Information in part from CUDL.)
