Description / Bio

Member of the well-known Ben Yijū family and sister of, among others, Avraham Ben Yijū. She and her husband Marwān had at least two sons and one daughter together (see IB III, 29). The couple and their children, alongside her siblings Yosef and Mevassēr, left their hometown of Al-Mahdiyya following Roger II of Sicily's 1148 conquest of Tunisia.
