Description / Bio

Manumitted woman who was the subject of a legal query from Moshe b. Peraḥya, the muqaddam of Minyat Ghamr, to Avraham Maimonides regarding her estate and bequests to a group of women in the town of Minyat Ghamr. The query/responsum dates to 1205–1237 CE, the period of Avraham Maimonides' tenure as Rayyis al-Yahūd. This date range also provides the earliest and latest years in which Unnamed Manumitted Person 64 could have died.
