Legal document. Location: al-Maḥalla al-Kubrā. Dated: 12 Adar 1420 Seleucid = 14 February 1109 CE. In which Nāshī b. Menaḥem acknowledges receipt from Mevorakh b. Avraham he-Ḥasid of 14 dinars + 1/4 + 1/8 + a ḥabba for half of the shakāra (large sack) which he had in Syria or Damascus (al-Shām) and which was sold by ʿOvadya b. Fahd. The sum of money was sent with Yiṣḥaq b. Yehuda. Nāshī releases all the people involved from further claims. Written and signed by Yehuda b. Shemuel. Also signed by Shelomo b. Yiṣḥaq. The validation is written and signed by Aharon b. Yeshuʿa ha-Rofeʾ and signed by Yaʿaqov b. Muvḥar ha-Kohen and Yefet b. Mevorakh ha-Levi. (Information in part from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
