תיאור

Deed of sale in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe. Dated: Thursday, 29 Ḥeshvan 1446 Seleucid = 17 November 1134 CE, under the authority of Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon. The parties are the Qaraite Ḥalfon b. Ismāʿīl (? if this is referring to the name in l. 3, looks instead like a woman named [...] bt. Sulaymān (or Maymūn?) b. Isrāʾīl known as al-Raḥbī) and Avraham b. Yefet known as Ibn Reʾuven and the latter's son. The sale is for a property in New Cairo in the Ḥārat Zuwayla neighborhood. The price is 55 dinars, of which 33 dinars are paid at the time of sale. The transaction is described as "a covenant from hand to hand (by) the faith of Israel" (ברית יד ליד אמונת ישראל) cf. T-S 10J6.3 (PGPID 3042) and Yevr.-Arab. I 1700.18 (PGPID 4770). The witnesses are Abū l-Najm, the cantor Ṣedaqa Ibn Nufayʿ, Hillel b. Ṣadoq, Netanʾel b. Shemarya ha-Shishi, Ṣedaqa ha-Levi, and ʿEli b. Peraḥya. There are doodles on verso.
