Bill of release. In the hand of Hillel b. ʿEli Dated: Friday, 13 Tammuz 1411 Seleucid = 22 June 1100 CE. Quotes an earlier document in which Natan ha-Kohen he-Ḥaver ha-Meʿulle ba-Ḥavura and his brother Ṣedaqa ha-Kohen, sons of Berakhot ha-Kohen, appointed Yefet b. Hillel ha-Levi ‘Beloved of the Yeshiva’ as their agent. This document was witnessed by Mevasser b. Natan ha-Kohen, Ṣemaḥ b. Yosef b. Ṣemaḥ, and Avraham b. Ṣedaqa, and the validation was by Yiṣḥaq b. Shemuel. Finally, Natan ha-Kohen confirms to have received 20 dinars from Abū l-Munā Tiqva b. ʿAmram. The money was willed by ʿEli ha-Kohen ha-Parnas. The document is signed by Yiṣḥaq b. Shemuel, Avraham b. Shemaʿya, and Yeḥezqel b. ʿEli ha-Kohen. (Information from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
