Letter from Avraham ha-Kohen to the community of Damsīs (לסאדתי ושיוכי אלקהל אלגליל קהל דמסיס). Mentioning the arrival of a letter with instructions from the Nasi; the rayyis Abū Isḥāq who is described as 'administrating all the affairs of the Rīf' (mutawallī umūr al-rīf kullih); and recommending a certain man as muqaddam over them, who 'even though he is young in years, he is old in wisdom' and comes from a distinguished family: וכאן וצלני כתאב נשיאנו . . . אלנשיא אלדגול נט רח יאמרני במלאחטתהם ואן אגמע אלהמה מנהם פלם יחסן ענדי אערפהם ולא אנא מ . . . . עליהם בל אדא נאבת . . אליהם חאגה סאלתהם סואל קא[ט]ע . . . . . . . . . . . . . .החבר הנכבד זלטובה ומעה . . . מולאי אלריס אלאגל אבו אסחק ירום הודו ויגדל כבודו לאנה מתולי אמור אלריף כלה ו . . מה עלי גמיענא וקולה . . . . ירסם באן יקדמה עליכם למא קד ערפת מן אבוותה ונסבה ואן כאן צבי פי אלסן פהו כביר פי אלעלם . . . .אנה קד עקל . . . . On verso there is the end of the letter and the address. There are also two different Arabic-script text blocks, one of which is a medical prescription, and another block in Hebrew resembling another address, mentioning Yehuda.
