Original use: Small fragment of a legal document in the hand of Hillel b. ʿEli, twice mentioning Natan ha-Levi known as Hiba Ibn [...], also mentioning Sitt al-Ahl. Secondary use: Draft of a legal document in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi, mentioning Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon. Unusual formulae: פאסתכשפת מנא אנן חתומי מטה קציה אלחאל פי דלך . . . The case may actually involve Maṣliaḥ and not only be invoking his authority. There is probably a gap of at least ~20 years between original use and reuse, as Hillel b. ʿEli's latest dates are long before Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon's earliest dates. (Information in part from CUDL.)
