Marriage contract, fragment. Dating: Probably 19th century, only the final digit is visible in the first line [5..]5 AM. The bride is named Joya, with an honorific after her name תמ׳׳א that at first glance looks like nomenclature based on the size of the script (תבורך מנשי אוהל). The groom's deceased father is mentioned as part of his incomplete nomenclature in l. 2: [...] b. [El]ʿazar Maṣliaḥ. Based on the ʿiqar payment of 200 zūz, the bride was not previously married (it would be 100 zūz if that were the case). There is a striking illustration of a colorful bouquet of flowers around the border of the ketubba. MCD.
