תיאור

Letter addressed to Makārim b. Ṭayyib in 'the land of Egypt' (diyār Miṣr), indicating that it was sent from outside of Egypt. In Hebrew (for the opening blessings) and Judaeo-Arabic (for the body of the text). The address on verso is written both in Hebrew characters and in Arabic script. He may be the same as the Abū l-Makārim b. Ṭayyib who appears in ENA 3126.5 (PGPID 11240). Part of the Judaeo-Arabic body of the letter is preserved in the margin, including closing greetings and a reminder to send the response quickly with "the response to the (legal?) query" (jawāb al-masʾala).
