תיאור

Letter fragment (bottom) in a neat, distinctive hand. Mentions a courier (raqqas) several times. Also refers to a distressing case involving excommunication and a man whom the addressee should "deliver us from." Instructs the addressee to act in accordance with the letter from the amīr. Continues, "... the master knows this disaster... I cannot even describe to you what happened to us...": יהוד אכדו . . . ויסתחי . . . רקאץ . . . אסם מן יעלם אן מראת . . . . הי ומן ענדה להא . . . ודאעה יאכד כטנא ושהוד בלחרם . . . לה אנה פי מצר וטלב יאכד מעה רקאץ וידכל לענדכם כל . . . . . . . וכתאב אלאמיר וקד תוגה נחו אלמולא תעמל מעה חסב נכותך ותכלצנא מנה ועשה כחמכתך(!) . . . . . . אלמולא עלם הדה אלחאדתה . . . . ומא אחסן אצף לך מא גרא עלינא . . .
