Description / Bio

Yehoshua ben Dosa was the head of the academy of Fusṭāṭ ca. 1143–44. A ghulām of his, Ṣāfī, engaged in commercial activities on his behalf at the Red Sea port of ʿAydhāb in 1141 (T-S 12.582).
