Description

Bottom part of a deed of indemnity. Location: Fustat. Dated: Wednesday, 13 Sivan 1351 Seleucid = 28 May 1040 CE. In which Ḥasan b. ʿAllūn Ibn al-Judayy confirms that he has received, on behalf of his sister Karīma, that which had been deposited with Ḥusn, mother of Hannah, Sarah and Isaac, the children of Burayh al-Šīrajī (i.e. Abraham, the maker of sesame oil). Witnessed by Khalaf b. Moshe, Yosef b. Yaʿaqov, Ṣibyān b. Saʿadya ha-Kohen, Shela b. Saʿadya, Yaʿaqov b. Sahlān, David b. Ḥayyim, Mevorakh b. David, Shelomo b. ʿEli, Yaʿaqov b. Avraham, ʿEli b.
