Description

Verso: Upper part of a letter. The handwriting looks like that of Berakhot b. Shemuel. There are copious introductory blessings in Hebrew followed by the beginning of the body in Judaeo-Arabic. The sender read the letter which the addressee sent to Abū l-Munajjā and seems to have been very offended by it (fa-wajadahu al-khādim li-ghāya mā yumkin min al-naqīṣa fī ḥaqq al-mamlūk). Reused on recto for a liturgical poem (qawl) attributed to the late Shemuel b. Yaʿaqov. (Information in part from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
