Description

Letter of recommendation for charity. Addressed to the ‘Head of the Congregations’ Yakhin b. Netanʾel, in Fusṭāṭ. The introduction quotes from Genesis 50:23, in the wish that the recipient would see his progeny to the third generation like Joseph. The sender recommends a man whose name originally appeared in l. 18 for help toward paying 1.5 dinars for rent on a room. The request itself is delivered in the first person (מוצל הדה אלאחרף רגל יקאל . . . . . . . . . . . נח אעלם חטרתה במא קאסיתה אנא מן ענדי מן אלטיקה ואלקלה ואלפקר וק[ד כאן] עלינא כרא בית דינאר ונצף כרא ומא לנא . . . ).
