Description

Betrothal contract for Sitt al-Khibāʾ bt. Ṭahor the beadle and Meʾir the cantor, in Fusṭāṭ. The contract stipulates that the bride will lose her delayed marriage gift if she refuses to live together with the husband's daughter (who is possibly an adult already). Marriage payments: 5 + 25 = 30. The heavily decorated late 12th-century ketubba T-S 24.17 may be the marriage contract for this couple. (Information from CUDL.)
