Description

Court record, in which Naḥum b. Avraham b. Neḥemya declares that he possesses nine qiraṭs of a house in Fusṭāṭ in Qaṣr al-Shamʿ (the other owners are Zūrʿa b. ʿAmram and Ḥiba bt. Hilāl b. Jābir al-Levi, wife of Abū Yiṣḥaq b. … b. Neḥemya). Naḥum agrees that he will not sell his share of the house to the apothecary Yosef al-Kohen. Also mentions the house of the community leader Abū ʿAli Ḥasan al-Baghdādī. Dated Wednesday 11th Kislev 1062 of the Seleucid Era (i.e. 750 CE). This date is in error, and the scribe likely omitted ‘300’, making the date 1362 (i.e. 28 November, 1050 CE). Signed by Shemuel b. Avraham, Sar Shalom b. Yosef, Yiṣḥaq b. Hillel, and Yiṣḥaq b.
