Description

Letter to Abū Saʿd Ibn al-Khāzin. In Judaeo-Arabic. Probably from Spain and dating to the 12th century (based on layout, handwriting, style, and names—an Ibn al-Khāzin and an Abū Ayyūb appear in the correspondence of Ḥalfon b. Netanʾel). Contains an eloquent opening and mentions the synagogue, difficult circumstances, Ibn al-Shāmī, and Abū Ayyūb. In the address on verso the addressee appears to be called "ha-Rav ha-Gadol." (Information in part from Goitein's index card.)
