Court record. Location: Fustat. Dated: Elul 1350 Seleucid = August/September 1039 CE. Banīna bt. Avraham in Alexandria, who had been deserted by her husband Yosef, appointed her brother Shelomo as her attorney. Accompanied by two witnesses (ʿAmmār b. Ṣomeaḥ and Nuḥaym b. Maymūn) to this arrangement, the brother appeared before Efrayim b. Shemarya’s court in Fustat, where the power of attorney was ratified. The brother appointed a cantor and clerk of the court (Mawhūb b. Shalom known as Ibn Salīm) as his sister’s permanent representative. Verso is blank.
