- state that we know and attest that the elder Abuʾl-Fakhr the perfumer, who is known as Ibn
- al-Amshāṭī, (our ) ma(ster) and t(eacher) Saʿadya the elder son of (our) m(aster) and t(eacher) Avraham the precious elder (who) r(ests in) E(den)
- served as collector of the mezonot during the middle third of the month of Kislev of the year 1473
- of (the Era of) Contracts in Fustat, Egypt,
- which sits on the Nile River, under the a[uthority] of his excellency, the precious,
- the garland, the splendor, his honor, greatnes[s], and hol[iness] our (master) and teacher, the uniqu[e] in his generation,
- our prince, prince of God in our midst, our lord Nethanel ha-Levi,
- “Israel’s chariots and horsemen” (2 Kings 2:12), may his name live forever. Accordingly we wrote our signatures on the
