Description

Accounts in Hebrew, and some Ladino. Dating: likely 16th century (and no earlier than 1474 based on the mention of the mocenigo currency). T-S AS 202.127 mentions books; chests; Sulaymān; glass (זכוכית); medins; and possibly some other currency terms. Needs further examination. T-S AS 202.129 contains a price list in the same hand. It seems to be from a different page of the account book rather than a direct join. Mentions many interesting currency terms including פרח קוריינטי (likely equivalent to ducato corrente, a unit of account); peraḥ zahav (likely equivalent to ducato d'oro, actual gold); mocenigo (מונסונייגו), i.e., the silver lira first coined by the Doge Pietro Mocenigo (r. 1474–76); silver medins (מיידי), corona (i.e. Spanish escudos), and grossi (גורישוש).
