Description

Letter fragment in Judaeo-Arabic. It could also be described as an informal note. Dating: 11th or 12th century. The sender very directly conveys the results of a business transaction. A bale contained 4 qinṭārs, of which 3.75 less 1 raṭl were sold. Several further details ensue. There is a request at the end that relates to "collecting from him the price/value of al-kātib al-mutʿārif" (meaning unclear).
