Description

Colophon to a copy of Joshua and Judges written by the well-known scribe Shelomo b. Saʿadya ha-Levi. He provides his genealogy and the titles of his ancestors: his father the late Shemuʾel ha-Rav ha-Muvhaq ha-Paṭish ha-Ḥazaq ha-Dayyan ha-Maskil ha-Muflaʾ he-Mumḥe he-Ḥakham ha-Meʿuelle . . . Nezer ha-Maskilim "who judged Israel for 52 years as is right and proper and died with a good reputation and good deeds at the age of 84." Shemuʾel's father is named as Saʿadya b. Yiṣḥaq ha-Rofeʾ Tifʾeret ha-Rofʾim. Cf. ENA 2592.8 (PGPID 12900).
