...they burdened them with iron (chains) and led them to Tiberias. They took

Yoḥanan the Dyer and crucified him (on the) fifth hour

of the day, and after this they buried him. And after him

they brought Yeshu the wicked, and were about to crucify him.

But [wh]en he s[aw] the cross set up to crucify him,

he did acts of magic, and flew out of their hands,

and flew in the air of the heaven like a bird. Yehudah the gardener said 

[to Rabbi] Yehoshuʿa ben Peraḥiah: “What should I do?

Should I go after him?” Yehoshuʿa bar Peraḥiah answered and said

to him: “Go after him, and do not tarry.” At that moment

he purified himself and was cleansed, and said the word of the Ineffable Name,

and flew up after him. And when Yeshu

[words of] magic and shut the mouth of the cave.

Yehudah the gardener [came], and said the word of the [Ineffable] Name,

and the mouth of the cave opened up. And Yeshu 

[dis]guised himself as a bird, until

R. Yehudah the gardener came and held him with his cloak,

and brought him before R. Yehoshuʿa ben Peraḥiah.

And they raised Yeshu the wicked up, and crucified him on

a cabbage stalk. But from before they raised him, he knew what is

written in the To[rah], “Do not

let his [cor]pse remain overnight on the cross.” He sen[t and call]ed

the people whom he had misled and said to [them: “If you come]

tomorrow [and you will no]t find me, nor my body, [on the cross]

—know that I ascended to the firmament of Heaven.” They crucified him

al[ive, and st]oned him with stones, and he died on the [cro]ss. And they did not

want to take him down from the cross. [Rabbi Yehoshuʿa ben] Peraḥiah said to them:

“Because of Yeshu the wicked we shall change the law of the Torah? For it is written,

‘Do not let his corpse remain overnight on the cross’.” Rabbi Yehosh[uʿa ben]

Peraḥiah said to them: “Bring him down from the cross.” They brought him down from the cross and buried him [in the]

water-[channel] in the garden of R. Yehudah the gardener. When [these people ca]me,

and did not find him on the cross, they said: [“Yeshu] our master [told us] the truth,

(that) the Jews are dealing with a lie. If [he was crucified] on the cross,

where did his body go? In truth, he ascended to Heaven.” [Pelatus] the governor [summoned] 

Yehudah the gardener, and said to him: “The man [whom you have crucified...]”
