Description

Legal record (#110) in a court register/pinqas from a Karaite beit din in Cairo (on f. 36r of Yevr.-Arab. I 328). Dated 20 Shevat [5326 AM] (1566 CE), three days after the previous entry. Brief document stating that Trkīye bt. Farjallah b. Naṣrallah al-Levi and Yosef b. ʿAbd al-Dāʾīm b. Yosef al-Levi married each other before two witnesses, but this is clearly not a ketubba nor does it follow common formulae in other entries from the same court register (except the neighboring record #109). The groom's payments are listed as: 50 dirham + 200 medin + 1,000 medin. The closing lines note that the ʿāqid (rabbi officiant) was Shemuʾel ha-Dayyan, one of the Karaite judges known from other entries, and that the wedding took place in the residence of Shemuʾel al-Fūlādī.
