Description
Letter consisting entirely of instructions to a notary for drawing up a legal document. Dated: Sunday, 28 Muḥarram 547 AH = 5 May 1152 CE. Recto reports that Abū l-Riḍā received 25 dinars from "our master the Rav" (identified by Goitein as Elʿāzar al-Qaṣabī) and will buy for him 200 manns of sal ammoniac over the course of 1.5 months. Verso reports that on the same day Abū l-Riḍā received 28 [dinars?] from the judge R. Yaʿqūb. There are also calendrical jottings on recto and Greek/Coptic numerals on verso.
