Description

Astrological text in Judaeo-Arabic with an interesting geographical section, describing the different locations under the influence of Leo, including "the lands of the Turks" and the cities that were founded under similar constellations, including Iṣfahān, Raʾs al-ʿAyn, al-Ruhā (Edessa), Latakia, Fustat, Ṣadā(?), and Dīnāwar אלדינואר (= Dīnavar دينور?). The latter site Dīnavar was a prominent city during Late Antiquity and the early medieval centuries but may have been abandoned as early as the fourteenth century. Its Encyclopaedia Iranica entry lists the city's location as 34° 35’ N, 47° 26’ E: https://www.iranicaonline.org/articles/dinavar/
