Description

Bifolio containing calendrical jottings in Hebrew script for the years 1454–1501 Seleucid = 1142–90 CE. There is also the beginning of a birth record in Judaeo-Arabic "Thursday halfway through Kislev" but this is incomplete. On the facing page there are Arabic jottings including a reference to "al-ʿĀdiliyya" and a numeral. One of the four pages contains two complete birth records in Arabic script. (1) The first is for Abū l-Maḥāsin b. Abū l-Futūḥ who was born on Friday 4 Muḥarram 544 AH (=14 May 1149 CE) corresponding to Sivan; Shavuʿot that year was on a Sunday. (2) The second is for Abū ʿImrān who was born on Tuesday night halfway through Ṣafar of 533 AH (=22 October 1138 CE, however this was a Saturday and not a Wednesday).
