Description

Verso: Fragment (right side) of a legal document in Hebrew. Dating: first half of the 11th century. In which Muḥsin b. Ḥusayn Peqid ha-Soḥarim, the guardian of an orphan girl, appears before the court. Mentions sums of money in silver and gold; a certain Yeḥezqel; and a long list of various household items and garments. There is another unidentified text in a different hand written in the spaces between the lines at the bottom at 180 degrees. On recto there is a letter probably from the community of lepers in Tiberias (see separate record).
