  1. [......] المذكور في هذا الكتاب قد قبض البايعون المسمون
  2. تاما وافيا وأبروا جميعا براه قبض واستيفا وسلموا اليه
  3. وملكه وحازه وصار مالا من ماله وملكه من املاكه
  4. يحكم فيه حكم الملاك في أملاكهم [………….] لا عدة ولا
  5. استثناء و لا شرط بعده وذلك بعد معرفتهم وتقليبهم [………] جميعا و
  6. إنفاذ منهم جميعا مما أدرك المشتري المسمى من جميع ما اشترا من درك أو علقة من أحد
  7. من جميع الناس فضمان درك وخلاصه لازم لها و لا البائعين المسمين من خالص أموالهم
  8. بالغ ما بلغ على شرط بيع الاسلام وعهدته بيعا وضمانا شهد على اقرار
  9. البائعين المس مين بالبيع ] وقبض الثمن وعلي [ المشتري با لإحازة
  10. شهود فعرفوهم بأعيانهم وأسمائهم وبعد ان قري عليهم جميعا جميع ما فيه حرفا حرفا
  11. من اوله الي اخره فعرفوه واقرو أن عرفتموه وذلك في صحة عقولهم وأبدانهم
  12. وجواز امورهم طائعين غير مكرهين غير مجبرين كتب مستهل شعبان
  13. من سنة أربع وخمسين وأربع مائه

  1. [………] in this document. The named sellers collected
  2. in full and completely. And [the sellers] released him (the buyer) by means of a receipt (acknowledging that they have) received and taken (the price) over fully. They delivered (the property) to him
  3. And he owned it and acquired it and it passed into his possession and into his holding as his property.
  4. He has the same freedom of choice with regard to it that owners customarily have with regard to their property. [….] (in this sale there is) no claim,
  5. exception, nor any condition after this. And this is after their understanding and investigation of everything that [……]
  6. The execution of all claims should there be any claims made by a third party or by way of attachments made against the named buyer regarding all that he has bought, made by any
  7. person, is obligatory upon her, and not on the buyers whose name has been mentioned, from her own money
  8. whatever it may be. (This sale has been performed) according to the condition of the sale of Islam and its contract. Witnesses testified to the acknowledgement by the
  9. mentioned seller of the sale [ and receipt of the price and the acknowledgement by] the buyer of the acquirement (of the property).
  10. They came to know them in person and by their names. (This was) after the whole document was read to all of them, letter by letter
  11. from its beginning to its end and they understood it and acknowledged that they have understood it being in sound mind and body,
  12. legally capable of conducting their affairs, acting voluntarily, not forced or coerced. This was written in the beginning of Sha’bān
  13. of the year four hundred and fifty-four.

Witness clauses

  1. Yūsuf ibn Tamīm testified to the acknowledgement by the sellers named in the contract and to the receipt of the price. This has been written on his behalf by his instruction and in his presence.
  2. Nawāl ibn Jawāb testified to the acknowledgement by the sellers and the buyer of what is herein. This has been written by his instruction and in his presence.
  3. ‘Alī ibn Muḥammad al-Ḥijāzī testified to the acknowledgement by the sellers and the buyer of what is herein. This has been written by his instruction and in his presence.
  4. Mūsā […] testified to all that is contained in this document and wrote by his hand.
  5. Ya‘qūb ibn Mahdi testified to all of what is in this document and wrote by his hand.
  6. ‘Abdullāh ibn Mahdī testified to the acknowledgement by the sellers and the buyer of what is herein and wrote by his hand on its date.
  7. Ṣafwān ibn Sulaymān testified to all of what is in this document and wrote by his hand.
