Description

Recto: Copy of a letter of condolence for Maṣliaḥ Gaʾon (r. 1127–39 CE) upon the death of a son. Verso: A dirge with ṣidduq ha-din "which I wrote upon the death of Rabbenu Gershom." In the dirge, Gershom is identified as "the son of the Gaʾon of my nation" and a kohen, so this is probably directly related to recto. Join: Alan Elbaum.
