Description

Letter from Shemarya b. Aharon ha-Kohen the descendant of Eliyyahu ha-Kohen to Avraham b. Natan Av Bet Din (and his brothers Aḥiyya and Berekhya?). In Hebrew. Dating: late 11th or early 12th century. Mainly the flowery opening is preserved. Same addressee as T-S NS 322.145. The portion spanning T-S NS 322.123 + T-S NS 322.124 (the only direct join) reads in part: עליו . . . מלין . . . חזתי דרך קצרה ואכתו[ב] את שני הטורים הללו . . . נכספתי אליו ובמאד . . . רבה תשוקתי עדיו ועצ . . . קלסטרו הנעים ולהו . . . .בו חיי בשר . . . בות ואל ייי . . .רב זמן ויעוד . . . שמח It is possible that these fragments come from two or more letters in the same hand rather than all coming from one letter.
