Description

Accounts of a druggist, probably. On a bifolium. In Arabic script with a few Greek/Coptic numerals (but mainly the numbers are spelled out). Dating: Perhaps 12th or 13th century, but that is a guess. Two of the pages are headed "bayān al-X." On the lower right of recto, people are purchasing violets (zahr banafsaj). Numerous names are mentioned, including al-ʿAmīd, al-Makīn Abū Isḥāq, Ḥassūn the ghulām of Mawhūb, ʿAlī b. al-Raqqī, ʿAbd al-Bāqī, Abū l-Ḥasan al-Qifṭī, Muḥammad al-Ṣaghīr, Ibn al-Ṭaffāl, ʿAbdallāh al-Ṣiqillī, Ibrāhīm al-Dallāṣī, Abū l-Karam the in-law of al-Shammāʿ, Yūsuf al-Shammāʿ, Abū l-Ḥasan al-ʿAbd (the slave?), and Bū Yūsuf(?) b. Abū l-Faḍl.
