Description

Mercantile letter, in Arabic script, late. Dated 22 Ṣ[afar(?)] 1244 AH. The sender, Muḥammad al-Firqī(?) expresses his affection for the addressees Shimʿon Francis and Ishāq Suwāris, probably European names, and expresses his longing towards them. He mentions longing towards someone he last saw in Beirut, probably the addressees, and conveys his greetings towards a bunch of people. He also mentions the arrival of something through Dāwūd and tells the addressee to acknowledge its arrival. The transport cost is 7 riyāl, probably the Spanish Real or some equivalent Middle Eastern currency. Needs examination.
