- بعد وان سالتم عنا فاننا بخير وخاطرنا عندكم والذي نعرفكم به ان وصل الى عندنا
- مكتوبكم صحبة المعلم موسى وعرفتونا من قضية الشبابك الذي له عند النصراني والناس وان النصراني
- خدام عند الأمير محمد اغا ملتزم بندر دمياط والواصل الى عندكم المعلم موسى والحال اناكم عند وصول
- المكتوب اليكم تاخذوا مكتوب من حضرة كتخدا الوقت ومكتوب من الامير يوسف بيك ومكتوب
- من الامير سليمان اودة باشه وعبد الله اودة باشه خطابا لنا ويذكر فيهم ان عند وصول المكاتيب
- تنظروا حساب النصراني في منزلكم وترسلوهم الينا ومثل المكاتيب الذي لنا ايضا مكتوب
- من الأمير يوسف بيك ومكتوب من كتخدا الوقت ومكتوب من سليمان اودة باشه وعبد الله اودة باشه
- خطابا الى محمد اغا [ال] ملتزم حالا وتذكروا انهم يعملوا الحساب في بيت الامير علي افندي وتدعوهم
- يوكدوا في المكاتيب ويرسلوهم الينا على العجلة ونحن نخلصه من النصراني ومن خلافه
- على اخر حال واحمد افندي ومحمد افندي يسلما عليكم... في ذي القعدة سنة ١١٩[١]

Trust in God in all matters.

[In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate.]

Now then: If you were to ask about us, we are well. Our thoughts are with you. What we inform you of is that your letter has arrived

with Muʿallim Mūsā, and you have informed us about the matter of the nets owed to him by the Christian and the [other] people, and that the Christian
-
is a servant of Meḥmed Agha, the tax farmer of the port of Damietta. Muʿallim Mūsā is coming [back] to you, and now, as for you, when [this] letter reaches you,
-
obtain a letter from his excellency the Ketḫüdā al-Waqt and a letter from the amīr Yūsuf Bey and a letter
-
from the amīr Süleymān Odabaşı and ‘Abdullāh Odabaşı, addressed to us, stating in them, ‘When the letters arrive,
-
look into the Christian’s account in your residence and send them [the accounts?] to us’. In addition to the letters to us, [there should be] a letter
-
from the amīr Yūsuf Bey and a letter from the Ketḫüdā al- Waqt and a letter from Süleyman Odabaşı and Abdullah Odabaşı
-
addressed to Meḥmed Agha, [the] current tax farmer, telling them to draw up the account in the house of the amīr ʿAlī Efendi [the writer of the present letter]. Urge them
-
to be emphatic in the letters and send them to us speedily, and we will free him [i.e., Muʿallim Mūsā] from the Christian and the others
-
entirely. Aḥmed Efendi and Meḥmed Efendi greet you ... in Dhī’l-Qaʿda of the year [1]119 [late January–early February 1708].
