Description

Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic. Dated in the month of [Ju]mada I 944 AH (דמ׳׳ץ) or 1537 CE, with tzade sofīt ץ indicating 900 rather than 90 (a dating convention that was somewhat common among sixteenth-century CE fragments). Some of the names mentioned in the accounts on the recto include: Badr al-Ḥijāzī, Yosef Castro, Muḥammad b. ʿIssa, ʿA[bd] al-Raḥīm Qarā (=Ott. Tr. "Kara"?), al-Bāsha ʿA[bd] al-Mzq[...], among others that continue onto the verso. MCD.
