List or table AIU VII.F.56

Description

Accounts, likely related to AIU VII.F.65 based on the content and scribal hand. Dating: c. 1785–1825 CE, based on the active dates of the scribe Meʾīr Ben-Naʿīm, who practiced his signature next to the list on the verso. The paleography is consistent with his scribal hand. The recto heading on the right mentions Benyamīn Dalāl and Moshe al-Rashīdī is referenced in entries the left side. Many of the entries name items that could appear in women's dowry lists (but this document does not appear to be one based on its heading): silver embroidered head covering, bath towels, bathrobe, silk cloak or bedsheets, shawls, blankets, among other items listed on the recto and verso. There is also a floral doodle on the recto, perhaps representing a tulip. MCD.
