Recto
- A partnership (shirka) agreement was written between the Elder (A)bū al-Makārim b.
- Bishr and Abū al-Ḥasan b. Sa‘īd concerning the settlements in which
- Makārim collected taxes, and the collection was for a period of 8 months,
- the first of which was Tammuz, in three towns: Būsh, Wanā
- and Mīdūm, with the condition that the am[ount] (to be paid for the right) to collect taxes
- to be five and a half dina(rs) each month, each of them being obligated for two
- and a half and a quarter dinars. The stipulation between the two of them
- is that the E(lder) (A)bu al-Ḥasan will have Mīdūm, and Makārim will have Būsh
- and Wanā will be (divided) between the two of them; each of them will make use of it (Wanā) for 4
- months, two months after two months, and the stipulation between the two of them
- was for two equal halves,
- likewise with the profit: it will go //in the tax collection// in equal parts to the two of them.
- The stipulation is upon each of them that at all times when Wanā is
- with one of them, that one will not partner in it, rather, he may
- sell therein and to resell and to do what he chooses.

- A partnership agreement has been written between the elder Bū l-Makārim ibn
- Bishr and Abū l-Ḥasan ibn Saʿīd regarding the localities for which
- Makārim is the ḍāmin for a concession of a period of 8 months,
- the first of which is Tammuz, in three localities, Būsh, Wanā,
- and Maydūm, on condition that the amount of the concession,
- 5 dīnā(rs) and one-half each month, be (split), each of them (paying)
- two dīnārs and one-half and one-quarter. The stipulation between the two of them
- is that Maydūm shall be for the elder Bū l-Ḥasan and Būsh for Makārim,
- while Wanā is to be (shared) between the two of them, with each of them exploiting it for 4
- months, two months at a time (alternating two months each). The stipulation between the two of them
- is that whatever befalls (the venture), whether loss or fee (juʿl)
- on the concession or anything else, it will be shared between the two of them in equal halves.
- Likewise, any profit that accrues \\in the concession// will be shared beween the two of them in equal halves.
- The stipulation upon each of them is that whenever Wanā is
- in the hands of one of them, on one shall share it with him, but rather, he may
- sell in it, pack/bale in it, or do what he chooses.
