Description

Fragment of a mercantile letter addressed to [Abū] Zikrī b. Ḥananʾel, probably in the town of al-Ṣaffayn. Dealing with various business transactions. There was also a market named al-Ṣaffayn in Fustat; in this case the address would likely have been written "to Fustat, to al-Ṣaffayn," but there are some examples of addresses that list only the name of a location within a city, e.g., T-S 6J4.20 (PGPID 17099).
