Description

Family letter in Judaeo-Arabic addressed to Sitt Ṭāʾūs (from her husband?). Rudimentary hand. Dating: probably ca. 14th–15th century. The sender expresses longing and cites the winter to justify his delay due. He says he knows all about her suffering, but other people suffer worse, some men are away from their families/wives for years and years, but this has not yet happened to him On verso there are many greetings and expressions of longing for various people, including Sitt Yāqūt the wife (bayt) of Makārim/Mukarram/Mukram (מכרם). The scribe (מסטרהא) Sulaymān adds his own greetings at the end, including for his dear son and daughter.
