Description

Copy of Maimonides' letter to Yosef b. Yehuda which comprises the introduction to the Guide for the Perplexed. In the hand of Shelomo b. Shemuel b. Saʿadya ha-Levi (active late 12th and early 13th century), who was the scribe for a number of Maimonides' works. Excerpts: מא אהיה ואן אכברך ב . . . אלמתכלמין והל תלך אלטרק ברהאניה ואן לם תכן פמן אי צנאעה הי וראיתך קד שרדת . . . דלך עלי גירי . . .חאירא . . . .ונפסך אלשריפה תטאלבך למצוא דבר חפץ פלם אזל אדפעך ען דלך ואמרך אן תאכד אלאשיא עלי תרתיב קצד מני אן . . . לך אלחק בטרקה לא אן יקע אליקין באלערץ ולם אמתנע טואל אגתמאעך בי אדא מא דכר פסוק או נץ מן נצוץ אלחכמים פיה תנביה עלי מעני . . . דלך לך.
