Description

Bottom of a legal document in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe ha-Levi. Dated: last decade of Adar 1441 Seleucid = March 1130 CE. Contains formulae of release; reference to someone dawdling (וגרגר אלי אן אקאם עני בדלך); obtaining a 'noble rescript' concerning the speaker's (probably capitation tax) payments in a certain place (אסתנגזת תוקיע כרים בוזני פי מכאן); an explicit reference to paying the capitation tax to somebody else (אנפד לה גאליתי); and the granting of this document/release to a certain Nissim known as Ibn al-[...].
