Description

Letter from one community (of Jerusalem?) to another (of Fustat?). In Hebrew. Dating: likely 11th century. There is a long introduction with biblical verses and blessings. The addressees are asked to assist the bearer, a certain Yaʿaqov b. [...], who also has a letter from other dignitaries (including גאון הגולה) [sealed?] "with their rings" (בטבעותיהם). Yaʿaqov may be raising money to redeem captives. Also mentions an Exilarch (Rosh ha-Gola).
